I have been teaching some mad memory techniques for a while, and it’s always fun watching how well they are digested.
The way we are thought to memorize in school is archaic. It uses rote learning as a class (repeating things) and very little individuation.
Below are three recordings that demonstrate a different approach to memory that really works in improving your ability to store information.
First – a short discussion on how your brain stores memories.
Second – How we hack all this using the imagination.
In summary: instead of rote learning, we focus on making information memorable before we try memorize it… duh?
Third – Time to actually apply your knowledge by trying out a very powerful technique called the journey technique.
Take ten minutes and give it a whack.
