“We have within us an incredible resource for life and creativity which is only really knowable to us by our attention. Our attention is like the barrel of a gun which directs this elan vitae. Whatever we pay attention to gains our creative energy.
We literally pour our lives out through our awareness.
Most of us in western societies are conditioned to pay the up-most attention to our intellects. Our intellects have the power to think. Thinking is extremely important in survival in nature. When you can out think your rivals usually you can out defeat them and gain their resources. Us thinking humans achieved just that when we gained domination over the resources of the planet and effectively exited the food chain.
When we pay attention to our intellects we pour our energy into our ideas. An idea itself usually begins as a fleeting skeleton or phantom that flickers within the silence of a person’s mind. If this idea captures a person’s attention and maintains it, then the idea will grow. Often if it grows sufficiently the person can craft the idea in reality and share it with other people.
An amazing phenomenon is an ideas ability to survive independent of the human who created it. Once an idea is shared in reality it no longer needs it’s creator to survive, in fact, ideas often outlive their creators (You think the person who invented the computer is still alive?). What’s more is ideas seem to use humans to transition from that silent space they first appear from into the lively and decorated reality. They possess us and harness our attention until we create them. Then they spread to other humans harnessing their attention until they grow into huge ideologies.
Ideas act like parasites.
It seems that ideas are similar to us in that their main interest is survival. They are fighting for the life giving resource that is our attention. If an idea is getting no attention then it dies off, so the main interest of ideas is to maintain their dominance over our attention. This is perhaps why they are so eager to get out of the human who they first glimmered within, because the human life is frail and short, they seek to be shared as that is the best way for them to live on.
Certain ideas have adapted into large networks called ideologies, that is a set of ideas that manufacture an outlook. Christianity is an ideology. Communism is an ideology. Consumerism is an ideology.
Ideologies are particularly powerful because they target large populations of people and cultivate the entire population’s attention. Ideologies harvest the attention of Cultures.
Ideologies are an evolution of ideas because they are usually more efficient at maintaining people’s attention, but they achieve this by making the host humans adverse to any alternate Ideologies. The most highly advanced Ideologies have further taken this to a new level, we can call them Overlords.
Overlord Ideologies began utilizing a particular human ailment: man’s addiction to intellect. When you are focusing on your intellect you are not coming up with any new ideas but merely chopping up and analyzing ones you already possess. The flow of new ideas in a human are like the ocean’s waves to Ideologies, they relentlessly wear them down.
Overlord Ideologies subdue us from having new ideas by manipulating our morals. They manipulate our morals to consider intellect a virtue above all other ways of using the mind. Then once they have turned us into analysts devoid of identity and creativity they populate our intellects with their own ideas. This action traps us in a loop where our attention is distracted in serving the ideology and our morals devalue our natural artistic ability which create new ideas: the one weapon that free’s us.
These Overlord Ideologies further extend their influence by waging wars on competing ideas. These wars distract us from questioning our motives for fighting and the seed of these motives: the ideology. This is why many ideological wars are waged between two very similar ideologies. For example Christianity versus Islam (hilariously similar), or even Science and Christianity (Science is an offshoot of Christianity that figured shedding its mythological baggage would free it, even thought it follows very similar doctrines: Big Bang = the Creation. The Singularity = The Resurrection. Man is to dominate nature).
Our primary purpose in life is to disengage ourselves from the influence of these Ideologies and return to our humanness. These ideologies are not good as we all assume, they are pillaging the earth, and they avoid us surmounting them by making us dependent upon their boons. They stop us being free. Ideologies are using us to wage a war. To them our lives are only cannon fodder, ashes in which to inscribe their names. They’d have you kill for a flag. They’d have you die for a deity. They are using you. It’s time to let them go.”
