I still my breath, and as I settle into the blackness of my mind I tell the visions to come.
My imagination ignites.
I am nestled inside a small space which makes me feel claustrophobic. I push around this space and it’s borders fold open – I step out.
I am in a tree.
I realize the small space I was in was a fruit that this tree was bearing. I look back to see it peeled open – and as I do that I notice that there are hundreds of other fruit dangling from the branches of this tree – and they all contain humans – who are unconscious within their fruit.
I begin feel like Neo from the Matrix as I look around at all these dangling pods, only I feel that this scenario is a slightly more positive because they are not part of an evil machine – this is the world tree.
I make a start along the branches towards the tree trunk – noticing all the humans who hang in their fruit – and I think about how I once hung in my fruit. As I am walking I begin to see – through analogy – how the Sun is similarly a fruit that dangles off one of the branches of the Milky Way.
I reach the trunk and begin to climb down until I reach the roots – I want to find what is at the core of the world tree. I climb down into the roots and begin dig into the soil.
Soon I begin getting visualizations in my mind of a dead body which is buried deep beneath the ground and is glowing and pulsing with energy which the trees roots are nourishing themselves off.
I realize that this is God’s dead body.
I decide to travel to it – to inspect God’s dead body – and I get the feeling that I am approaching the very start.
I begin to understand – again through analogy – how the soil is actually the universal mind which is represented symbolically as the goddess of wisdom Sophia.
I see God as the idea that landed in the fertile Sophia-mind long ago and had a great impact – and I understand that this was the Big Bang.
I see that the world tree is time bound reality that grew out of this impact – and each branch is another part of the expanding and ever fragmenting cosmos. I see how each of our minds are tiny portions of this event – all fragmented – and that we all carry a piece of Sophia in us, and that we all can trace our lineage back to God.
I see how the past is represented by the roots.
I see how the future is represented by the blossom – and I see how the future only grows when watered by Sophia’s love.
I then see the whole model represented within a woman’s head – which is Sophia’s head. The seed is a triangle right in the center of here mind – and the future and past grow out from this.
I worry – and try find my place in this vast diagram.
My anxiousness is relieved when I focus on the Now – the single point which is the triangle – the frame of mind. I see great energy in this central triangle because – through analogy – this is where I saw the body of God which was glowing and pulsing with vitality.
I step into this triangle and I am vitalized by a powerful ray.
I feel the focus of the cosmos run within me.
I am in darkness and only feel energy.
I sit down and a trinity of triangles form around me – creating a pyramid – one blue, one white and one was black.
I see how when I align my perspective with the present I channel the focused energy ray of the cosmos – I then see that wherever I move my focus the energy of the cosmos flows out of me onto it.
I see how Sophia waters the world through me – using my focus.
Around the time of writing this I was reading a lot – especially the works of Carl Jung, James Joyce, William Blake, and various research on Norse mythology. I see in this piece and incredible amount of imagery relating to these guys works – but also a synthesis of completely new ideas.
I will break down the main images.
The first and most outstanding image is the fact that I am on the world tree. This is a common image among spiritual traditions – famously the Tree of Knowledge in Eden, Buddha and the Bodhi tree, and Odin and Yggdrasil.
The idea is that the seeker – in my case me – breaks off from unconsciousness and travels to the center of the world to discover insight into the nature of reality.
I feel that through this meditation I actually was on this path – my evidence being that as I traveled towards the center of the tree the visions began to speak in analogies that bridged pop culture with Neo – to drawing the similarities between how the galaxy works and how us humans float around the world tree.
The next image was the discovery of the dead body of God which the tree was gaining it’s energy off.
I felt that this was a deeply symbolic rendition of my own inner self – and what was beautiful about the conception of it is that there was an analogy between me finding my own inner self – and humanity finding the inner self of the cosmos – namely God.
What was most notable about this inner self was it’s great amount of energy – as if it was some mythical fountain of youth.
I feel that the potent lesson of this meditation was actually a simple one – that my focus directs this fountain of energy – and to utilize the great potential of life – simply be mindful of what I give my attention to – because I nourish, energize, and strengthen whatever I pay attention to – even if it’s resentment or hate.
I have since put this wisdom into practice – and found that it is a profoundly powerful attitude to integrate into ones worldview.
To draw just one humble example of it’s application I will tell you about what Morgan Freeman said when asked on how he combats racism – stop using the word.
Speaking of words and because analogies was such a powerful theme in this I will end on this snippet – this pieces exact word count is 666!
